Dear Greek Men,
Ummm, you look REALLY bad this week (SAE racist chants, now, compromising Facebook pics. I know that most of you are not racist drunk misogynist idiots doing stupid things, but it’s hard to see your core values when other fraternity members are displaying Greek life’s absolute worst qualities. You’re being lumped into a heap of ignorance and stupidity. You need to do something to change it. I can’t imagine any parent of a first year college student or a student thinking “GO GREEK” is a good idea at the moment. You need to highlight the other headlines — Like UFs Dance Marathon raising over $2 million dollars or Greek alternative Spring Breakers helping communities through service or Musical Greek organizations showcasing their talent and raising money to help fund surgery for a student with epilepsy. I know, Greek life isn’t about a bunch of stupid drunk idiots doing dumb sh*t, but it’s hard for the rest of the world to know it. I know because I spend my time meeting Greek student leaders on campuses across the country who make a positive impact, not national news. Oh, and to all those people who have been upset, outraged, and targeted, I’m 100% with you. I’m disgusted by what I’ve seen, heard, and read.
